WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES TO TAKE PART?

In addition to having completed a foundational yoga teacher training, you should be passionate about wanting to teach yoga and serving people as well as establishing and deepening your own yoga practice and understanding of yoga.

You should also have practiced at Three Boons Yoga and/or one or more other schools within our Jivamukti lineage regularly for some time before the start of your advanced teacher training. During the training, you should be able and willing to have a regular consistent yoga asana practice (4 times a week) at Three Boons Yoga Berlin (on-site or online) and take part attentively in all the sessions of the training.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE ADVANCED TEACHER TRAINING?

Taking an advanced yoga teacher training as ours after your foundational teacher training will take your knowledge of yoga philosophy, yogic techniques and your teaching skills to the next level. It will enable you to teach from a much deeper understanding of yoga with a higher confidence and proficiency. It will also prepare you to be an ideal mentee/apprentice in case you are planning to do or are already taking a mentoring program like The Art of Teaching Yoga III at Three Boons or the Jivamukti apprenticeship.

If your foundational training was not a Three Boons Yoga or within the Jivamukti lineage, our advanced teacher training will provide you with new insights and perspectives from the point of view of our lineage and enrich your tools as yoga teacher.

Yoga foremost is an experiential science, so this training, along with your regular practice of yoga, will substantially build onto the foundation you initially created with your first training and thus help you on your path to become the best yoga teacher and yogi you can be. Be it by sharing your passion for yoga with others, be it by teaching yoga classes or be it by being more skilled in dealing with life and all its multiple situations.

HOW LONG IS THE 3BY 135+HR ADVANCED YOGA TEACHER TRAINING?

The 135+hour advanced yoga teacher training “The Art of Teaching Yoga II” at Three Boons Yoga Berlin spreads over a period of 6+ weeks. The upcoming 135+hr Training will take place from June 1 through July 14, 2024.

HOW OFTEN ARE WE MEETING?

We will come together in a group setting on 4 weekends and 6 Wednesdays during this period. There will be approximately 3 hours of homework after each weekend and 2 hours preparation time for the assignments. This will set up a strong foundation for the sessions we will be spending together as a group. Weekend sessions are Saturdays from 08:00 to 18:00 (we might also start earlier on some Saturdays) and Sundays from 8:00-20:00. Our Wednesday sessions are from 18:00 to 20:00. The Wednesdays before the weekend we meet are designed for everyone to catch up on the training material and to have time to have all your questions answered. The homework of the weekend before will be corrected. We will also talk about the upcoming schedule and mentally prepare ourselves for the upcoming weekend intensive. These meetings also serve for the facilitator to assess the progress you are making and to ensure that you are well prepared for the upcoming sessions. On the Wednesdays of the weeks that do not have trainings on the weekend, we work on repeating and refining assists which we have covered on the TT weekends and we also work on material that we have covered on the TT weekends that needs to be repeated. Both Wednesdays will be at the school, but you could also join via Live-or Flex-stream, always keeping in mind that being with us in person at the school is always better for your training results.  The  Wednesday meetings are equally as important as the weekends . Right afterwards, you could have your daily practice at the school in our Three Boons The Razor's Edge class from 20:15-21:30.

Practicing asana regularly (4 times a week) at Three Boons Yoga Berlin (on site or through the live-stream classes with your camera on) is required throughout the entire 7 week duration of the training (June 1 through July 14, 2024).

We also ask participants to have a daily meditation practice and write a meditation journal over the course of the 6 weeks that the training takes place.

For your planning, these are our group meeting dates and times of our upcoming 135+hr advanced teacher training “The Art of Teaching Yoga II” (on some Saturdays we might start earlier):

WHERE ARE WE MEETING?

The training will take place physically at Three Boons Yoga Berlin in Berlin-Mitte, Brunnenstr. 29. For interested participants coming from outside of Berlin, we offer the option to take the training online via Zoom. You will need to decide before the start of the course if you want to take part in person in Berlin or online via Zoom.

In important instances (like illness or unavoidable travels) the online option will also be available to in-person teacher trainees as a backup alternative to missing sessions. Vice-versa, online teacher trainees are welcome to visit us in person for parts of the training (prior notification to the program director is required).

The training requires your time and presence at all scheduled class times, i.e. even if you are taking the training on-line you should be present with your camera on when the training is actually happening. Replays of recordings of the training are offered to trainees for re-cap or to cover unavoidable circumstances.

The lead facilitator of the Three Boons 135+hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is Anja Kuehnel, Three Boons Yoga Berlin Director, Advanced Certified Jivamukti teacher, long time Jivamukti teacher training facilitator and 13 years Jivamukti Berlin JTAP program director.

Anja will be assisted in all sessions by Three Boons Yoga managing teacher Annie Schwalm (800+hr Jivamukti Yoga teacher) who also serves as lead mentor to the participants.

Parts of the training will be facilitated by senior Three Boons Yoga teachers.

WHICH LANGUAGE IS THE TRAINING HELD IN?

As our student base as Three Boons Yoga Berlin historically has been and still is very diverse and international and so are our yoga classes, we offer this training in the English language. Usually, half of our teacher trainees are not native Germans so the English language gives us a better common ground for communicating and teaching this training. However, Anja and most other faculty also are native German speakers, so even if your English is not the best, you will be able to communicate in German during the training if needed.
