Satsang: Everything About The Goddess is Sweet
Saturday May 9th
18:30 - 19:30
All are welcome!
Everything about the Goddess is sweet
Madhuram Sarvam Devi Madhuram
मधुरं सर्वं देवी मधुरम्
Over the past months, the Jivamukti Yoga Focus of the Month has explored Devi in her many forms: Saraswati in February, Lakshmi in March, Durga in April, and now, in May, Tara.
In this satsang, we honour the universal form of the Goddess and her underlying sweetness (amṛta)—the essence of all that is, and even all that is not.
Join Rowena, Gigi & Friends for an evening of kirtan in celebration of the Divine Mother in all her forms.
LOCATION: Three Boons Yoga Berlin-Mitte, Brunnenstrasse 29, 10119 Berlin or on our 3Boons Live-Stream
Costs: Free if you took the class right before, otherwise by donation for https://www.tierfreunde-niederbayern.de or 3YB/USC Login.
Gerdus Oosthuizen
Gerdus discovered yoga in 2007 during his university studies in South Africa. A deep calling drew him to that first practice; he has been a devoted student ever since. As with most, it started with Āsana. The aim was to touch his toes, but little did he know the practice would hold the key to understanding the nature of the self and the universe.
He holds deep gratitude to all the teachers who have shone light upon his path to liberation, especially Anja Kühnel, under whose guidance he is currently completing the Three Boons 500h mentorship program.
Gerdus is a multi-instrumentalist, film music composer, and a ceremonial musician, facilitating sound journeys and medicine music ceremonies with his associated collectives Astra Laguna, Keropii, and Soneiro Collective. He also produces dance music under the moniker Bummela. A bhakti at heart, Gerdus believes the highest function of music to be celebrating the wonder of creation, bringing us to the ultimate realisation of the non-dual nature of reality.
Rowena Johnson
Rowena has been practicing yoga asana since 2008. What began as physical pursuit, soon developed into a deeper awareness of body, mind and spirit. She became curious about the history and physiology of this practice and decided to explore this curiosity through various workshops, retreats, and the completion of her first 200hr training in India in 2016. Since then she has gone on to teach in the UK, Central and South America, and as a main teacher on a 200hr TTC in India.
Rowena believes in the importance of being a student first and foremost, which has led her to study Ashtanga yoga under the guidance of Sharath Jois at KPJAYI in Mysore and Jivamukti under the guidance of David Life, Anja Kühnel & Rima Rani Rabbath in Costa Rica. She is now pursuing her 800hr certification with her beloved mentor Anjaji.
Rowena is grateful to all of the special teachers who have influenced her path, Netta Imber, Corrie Ananda Preece, Cat Alip Douglas & Harmony Slater.
