As autumn deepens and the season begins to shift, we gather during an ancient threshold between worlds, between endings and beginnings, darkness and light.

THRESHOLDS invites us into the sacred space of transition: the moment between what has been and what is ready to emerge.
A pause. A portal. A soft crossing into deeper listening, reflection, and renewal.

Rooted in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain — the midpoint between the Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice — this retreat offers space to honor change, release old layers, and reconnect with what is essential.

Across many traditions, this time of year is seen as liminal: a season where the boundaries between inner and outer worlds feel thinner, where remembrance, intuition, and transformation come closer to the surface. From Samhain to Día de los Muertos, it is a time to pause, to slow down, reflect, honor & celebrate the cycles of life.

Through Jivamukti Yoga, music, breath, movement, cacao, cards, chanting, silence, and connection to nature, we explore what it means to move consciously through transition.

As the earth turns inward, we too are invited to retreat. To listen beneath the noise.  To rest.  To release. To be.

This retreat will be led by Annie and Hilli.

Fresh, local, nourishing 100% vegan and organic meals will be lovingly prepared by our creative chef, Alessia, head of the legendary Jivamukti Canteen.

Join us, bring your loved ones, for an intimate autumn retreat  — held in the quiet magic of the season.

GENERAL INFO ON THE YOGA PROGRAM & OTHER ACTIVITIES

THE PROGRAM:
Certified Jivamukti Yoga teachers and Three Boons teacher training faculty members Annie and Hilli will guide you through a beautifully balanced yoga program in harmony with the energy of this magical time. Each day will include a 2–3 hour Jivamukti Yoga class in the morning and evening (arrival day only evening class, departure day only morning class).

Their classes will weave together asana, kriyā, prāṇāyāma, chanting, and yoga philosophy, inviting you to tune into a sacred space of transition that this time of year embodies. Through Jivamukti Yoga, music, breath, movement, cacao, cards, chanting, silence, and connection to nature, we explore what it means to move consciously through transition.

Each morning will begin with guided meditation, setting a clear and luminous tone for the day. The evening sessions will often include chanting, restorative/movements practices, cacao ceremonies, drawing cards, allowing integration and release.

The yoga practice will be beautifully complemented by nourishing vegan meals prepared by our creative chef Alessia, head of the legendary Jivamukti Canteen. All meals will feature fresh, local, and organic ingredients, lovingly curated to support your practice and well-being.

Between sessions, there will be ample free time to relax in the stunning 1867 manor house, unwind in the sauna, enjoy cacao and card sessions, or simply wander through the vast private park and nearby nature. For those who feel adventurous, hikes and walks to the nearby lake and nature attractions offer a chance to connect even more deeply with the land and the spirit of spring.

MORE INFO ON THE LOCATION

The unexpected two-year hiatus from our Rügen retreats, brought on by the pandemic, turned into a blessing in disguise—it led us to discover a truly magical new retreat location.

Since 2023, our local baltic sea retreats have been held in an enchanting Renaissance manor situated on its own private mini-island, nestled within the larger expanse of Rügen Island. For one weekend only, this serene haven becomes ours to explore and enjoy. The only other residents sharing this peaceful sanctuary are the hundreds of birds that thrive in its tranquil remoteness—perfect company for yogis seeking connection with nature.

Tucked away at the end of a tiny road, amidst wheat fields, paddocks, and protected coastal bays, this exclusive island is surrounded by a shallow seawater bay, or "Wiek," which is part of a natural conservation area. The bay’s shimmering waters provide a mesmerizing display of light and color throughout the year and serve as a haven for diverse bird species, including cranes, herons, cormorants, grey geese, and ducks.

The Renaissance manor, originally built in 1553, fell into disrepair in the 1960s but has since been lovingly restored to its former glory and beyond. Maintaining its historic charm while incorporating modern comforts, the manor offers spacious, light-filled rooms perfect for both yoga practice and relaxation. Its enchanting atmosphere invites you to breathe deeply, feel grounded, and reconnect with yourself and the natural world.

Nature enthusiasts will revel in the bird colonies and nature reserve surrounding the manor, offering spectacular walks beneath the vast skies of northern Germany. Whether wandering through the landscape or gathering around our outdoor fire rituals, this unique setting invites you to immerse yourself deeply in the rhythm of nature. To elevate the experience, our retreat island also features outdoor saunas and fire pits, creating the perfect spaces to unwind, reconnect, and embrace the elements.
